Helping the ‘Covid Cohort’

Recent research from the London School of Economics found that 40% of secondary pupils who qualified for free school meals were persistently absent during the 2021/22 autumn term.

Based in Woking, our STEPS to 16 educational support team work with vulnerable teens to secure the qualifications they need for employment and further education and help to build their confidence and skills to progress into adulthood.

The report also found that over 28% of primary pupils were persistently absent over the same period, making the work of our family support teams and volunteers more important than ever.

By working together, the ‘Covid Cohort’ needn’t be a lost generation.
