The sun was shining and the course was buzzing with excitement for Milford Golf Club’s recent charity golf day. It was an early start for the team, with preparations kicking off at 6:30 a.m. We were busy getting everything ready for registration, setting up sponsor banners on their designated tee boxes, and selling raffle tickets to the eager golfers.
At 9:30 a.m., the air horn sounded for a shotgun start. This meant all 100+ golfers teed off simultaneously from different holes, ensuring everyone finished their round around the same time. The atmosphere was fantastic, and players were kept refreshed by a special halfway house offering Pimms and delicious homemade cake.
After a fantastic day of golf, everyone gathered for a well-deserved hog roast lunch with a selection of salads. The post-golf festivities continued with the highly anticipated prize-giving ceremony, followed by an incredible auction. With 26 lots up for grabs, the auction was a huge success, raising an amazing £3,500 for the Trust! A special shout-out goes to the generous bidder who took home the RAC for £85.
