Morning cruises are normally 10.30am – 12:30pm and afternoon cruises from 1.30pm – 3:30pm.
Being on the water provides a calm and relaxing environment that can help reduce stress and improve mental wellbeing. Leaving from Dapdune Wharf in Guildford, our wellbeing boat cruises create a safe and supportive space where people can connect with others, build confidence and enjoy the natural beauty of the River Wey.
We welcome bookings from care homes and community groups, youth organisations, schools, companies, individuals, and groups of friends and families.
We run 2 hour cruises on our boat, Tranquility, on the River Wey throughout the spring, summer and early autumn. Revitalise your senses as you glide gently through leafy woodland and open fields, spotting graceful herons and darting kingfishers.
The cruise boat is specifically adapted with a wheelchair lift, so it is fully accessible to people with limited mobility as well as other needs to enjoy an affordable morning or afternoon out. Groups of up to 12 people can be comfortably accommodated on board. However, for safety and space requirements, the capacity is adjusted when wheelchairs are on board, as each wheelchair user counts as two passenger spaces.
All cruises are skippered and crewed by volunteers trained to National Community Boat Association standards.
Our wellbeing boat cruises programme provides a welcoming and supportive environment where people can relax, connect and try something new. Spending time on the peaceful waters of the River Wey helps participants step away from everyday pressures while enjoying nature and gentle conversation with others. For many people, joining a group activity like this can be an important step towards building confidence, developing social connections and improving overall wellbeing. The calm pace of the cruise allows everyone to feel comfortable, included and able to enjoy the experience at their own pace.
Our wellbeing boat cruises are open to a wide range of people across the community. They are designed to support people who may benefit from improved confidence, social connection or time spent in a calm and relaxing environment. This includes people experiencing mental health challenges, social isolation, or those simply looking to try a new and uplifting activity in nature.
No previous boating experience is needed, and all cruises are fully accessible and supported by friendly staff and volunteers. We welcome people and small groups, helping everyone feel comfortable, included and able to enjoy the experience at their own pace on the River Wey.
