Our Swingbridge Cruises and Activity Days offer the opportunity to enhance wellbeing by the soothing speed and tranquility of travelling on water.
Whether you are looking for a special extracurricular or reward activity for young people, an engaging team-building or motivational activity for your company or organisation, or simply a fun day out with a difference, the Swingbridge team can cater for you. We welcome bookings from youth organisations, schools, companies, individuals, and groups of friends and families.
Wellbeing Cruises:
- Revitalise your senses as you glide gently through leafy woodland and open fields, spotting graceful herons and darting kingfishers.
- We run 2 hour cruises on our boat, Tranquility, on the River Wey throughout the spring, summer and early autumn.
- The cruise boat is specifically adapted with a wheelchair lift, so it is fully accessible to people with limited mobility as well as other needs to enjoy an affordable morning or afternoon out.
- All cruises are skippered and crewed by volunteers trained to National Community Boat Association standards.
- Groups of up to 12 people can be comfortably accommodated on board. However, for safety and space requirements, the capacity is adjusted when wheelchairs are on board, as each wheelchair user counts as two passenger spaces.
Activity Days:
- This is an ideal activity for team-building for young people. Our volunteer trainers are a friendly crowd, skilled at sharing their knowledge and creating a welcoming, supportive atmosphere on our floating classroom.
- The day covers all the basics of how to crew Tranquility, including hands-on instruction in driving to qualify for a Swingbridge Certificate of Achievement.
- An Activity Day is also an excellent practical preparation for a canal boating holiday, or makes a great activity day with a difference for families or groups of friends. Special rates are available for charities and multi-programmes – please ask for details!

Morning cruises are normally 10.30am – 12:30pm and afternoon cruises from 1.30pm – 3:30pm.
