Seven on the boat today including three new clients.
Despite the recent rain, the river level was low, though still with a fairly brisk flow.
After the usual maintenance checks and boat briefing, we headed down river with all participants having a go at lock operation during the day. On arriving at the site, we admired the wattle barriers installed by M and team – nice job, guys!
We didn’t really have time to start building the barrier on a further dog-hole, so chose to backfill the ones already started by repurposing some of the scalpings dumped further along the bank. As always, it took a lot more barrow-fulls than expected! It would benefit by being topped with some soil.
We had a late lunch while on the move back to the mooring. The ‘Monday Magic’ ran out just before Millmead, so we ‘enjoyed’ heavy rain for last leg of our return.
