Endeavour's endeavours

Regular updates on the environmental work carried out by our volunteer Swingbridge Endeavour crews.

We returned to the steps site at Shalford, and we got another step in, levelled off and shored up on both sides of the new run. We intend to put another 3 steps in going down, and the council will level up the worn ground on the old steps at the top.

Re the ‘cow’ holes, some of the thin trees we cut down on the old quay between the Weyside pub and the ped bridge might provide suitable stakes for the fencing, though still have to find more binders.

We have given Guildford Borough Council the location of the falling tree mentioned last week – reckon it’s dropped another 5 degrees.

Had the unpleasant task of pulling a dead Canada goose out of the water by the lock. Apart from being dead, it looked quite healthy – bird flu not suspected.
