Why run for Surrey Care Trust?

When Kati was a teenager, she was struggling. School felt overwhelming, her mental health was suffering, and she felt she had pushed away many of the people closest to her. What she needed wasn’t another service.

She needed someone to talk to. Through Surrey Care Trust’s mentoring programme, Kati was matched with a volunteer mentor who listened, encouraged, and supported her through a difficult time in her life. That support helped Kati move forward with confidence.

Years later, she came back to SCT as a volunteer mentor herself. Today, she has mentored three young people through their own challenges, helping them build confidence, resilience, and belief in themselves. That’s the impact of Surrey Care Trust. By supporting one young person at the right time, we didn’t just help Kati. We helped create opportunities for three more young people too.

When you run with #TeamSCT, you’re helping create more stories like hers.

The impact You will make

Every day, Surrey Care Trust works alongside people facing challenges that can affect their confidence, wellbeing, and opportunities in life.

Through mentoring, family support, wellbeing activities, community gardens, and skills programmes, we help people take positive steps forward.

Last year, we:

  • Supported 5,700 people across Surrey
  • Delivered 23,000 hours of support through trained volunteers
  • Helped 3,000 children, families and adults take part in outdoor wellbeing activities
  • Supported 88% of beneficiaries into employment, training, or education

When you run with #TeamSCT, you’re helping us reach even more people.

What your fundraising makes possible

  • £35 could fund a wellbeing activity day for a young person.
  • £50 could provide a week of mentoring support.
  • £200 could provide a month of mentoring support.
  • £2,400 could provide a year of mentoring support.

Because the right support at the right time can change the direction of someone’s life.

The London Landmarks Half Marathon is an unforgettable experience. You will run through the heart of London, past some of the capital’s most famous landmarks, alongside thousands of other runners taking on the challenge. But the impact of your challenge will be felt much closer to home. A young person will meet with a mentor. Someone will gain confidence through a wellbeing activity. A family will receive support when they need it most. And another story like Kati’s can begin. How to register
