There’s something special about setting yourself a challenge, stepping outside your usual routine and discovering what you’re capable of.
Whether you’re considering the 13-mile route from Shamley Green to Wotton or ready to take on the full 26-mile circular challenge across all five peaks, the Surrey 5 Peaks Challenge is a chance to do something memorable while helping someone else move forward.
Here’s why we think you should join us.
There is a particular kind of pride that comes from setting yourself a challenge and seeing it through.
Picture yourself on 12 September, medal around your neck, looking back at the miles you’ve walked and thinking: “I did it.”
That feeling is worth setting aside a Saturday for.
There are two routes to choose from.
The 13-mile route takes you from Shamley Green to Wotton, with transport back to the start included. With some preparation, it’s a genuinely achievable day out, even if this is your first walking challenge.
Or, if you’re ready to push yourself further, take on the full 26-mile circular route across all five peaks.
Whichever you choose, you’ll finish with a medal, a real sense of achievement and the knowledge that your efforts are making a difference to someone who needs support.
The only question is: which challenge would you enjoy more?
The Surrey 5 Peaks Challenge has a way of bringing people together.
Some walkers arrive with friends or family. Others come on their own. But everyone shares the same anticipation and heads towards the same finish line.
Along the route, conversations begin, encouragement is shared and laughter helps the miles pass. Our friendly local team will be waiting at every checkpoint with refreshments and a warm welcome.
You set your own pace and take every step, but the experience is shared from start to finish.
Your £100 fundraising aim could fund the equivalent of two one-to-one mentoring sessions. That’s just one example of what your support makes possible across our mentoring, family support, skills and nature-based programmes.
For Emma, it meant having a mentor she trusted as she rebuilt her confidence and secured a place on the college course she wanted.
For a parent facing cancer, it meant practical help that made home feel calmer and safer.
For Arthur, it meant finding purpose and belonging through one of our community allotments.
Different people. Different challenges. Each moving forward because someone was beside them.
We know a £100 fundraising target can feel daunting, but there’s no single right way to reach it.
Some walkers ask friends, relatives or colleagues to sponsor them. Some use matched giving through their employer. Others contribute part themselves, if they’re able, or use a combination of approaches that works for them.
And once you arrive, we’ll take care of the day.
Your £65 registration includes:
The routes are planned, the checkpoints are ready and the day is organised.
You prepare. You turn up. You begin.
As Teresa, one of our regular walkers, puts it:
The Surrey 5 Peaks really is an adventure not to be missed.”
So, what are you waiting for? Registration closes on 28 August. Choose your distance, set yourself a challenge and take a step towards making a difference for someone else.
Join us for the Surrey 5 Peaks Challenge on 12 September.
